It all started with a 1960’s caravan and a dream to have meaningful conversations over a cup of coffee.
Since 2021, California Kahve has built an incredible team of fellow coffee lovers, grown our footprint from one caravan to a mobile truck, and an iconic cafe in Golden Gate Park.
We love everything about San Francisco and the beautiful community that can be built over a cup of coffee.

We follow no trend. We just love to create very unique drinks and are a little bit obsessed with the floral aesthetic. For us, the focus is equally on experiencing a visit to one of our locations as much as experiencing the product itself. We operate in beautiful, scenic locations where you are meant to really enjoy your surroundings. We are not slinging drinks just to make money.

IT STARTED WITH A DREAM
California Kahve was born from my wish to do what I love and break free from traditional jobs. After nearly 20 years in hospitality, I valued the connections with customers but felt limited by corporate rules and high expectations. I’ve always enjoyed fine food and drinks, unique recipes, and mixing flavors, which drove me to create my own space for exploration and connection.
THEN A SEED WAS PLANTED
On a honeymoon trip to New Zealand where my husband is from, I came across several mobile cafe setups on our travels and was struck by the idea of doing it back to San Francisco. There was one vintage trailer that particularly caught my eye and when we returned I couldn’t shake the idea.
Back home, on a coffee stop on our way back from Jenner one afternoon my husband simply said “you love coffee so much, why don’t you open a mobile cafe like we saw in New Zealand?” The spark was ignited and I rushed home to search for a vintage trailer.
THEN IT ALL HAPPENED
I found my 1960’s caravan on Ebay and purchased her without seeing her in person. I drove down to LA with zero towing experience and brought her back to San Francisco. I was unsure where to start but knew she needed gutting, so I took her to the tin walls.
Fast forward four years, two kids, countless late nights - the dream became a reality and California Kahve was born. Our growth has happened organically over time with the support by the local community - all of you. Thank you for helping turn my very obscure vision of running a little coffee trailer into something that has grown so big.
